Robust Similarity Measures for Mobile Object Trajectories
نویسندگان
چکیده
We investigate techniques for similarity analysis of spatio-temporal trajectories for mobile objects. Such kind of data may contain a great amount of outliers, which degrades the performance of Euclidean and Time Warping Distance. Therefore, here we propose the use of non-metric distance functions based on the Longest Common Subsequence (LCSS), in conjunction with a sigmoidal matching function. Finally, we compare these new methods to various Lp Norms and also to Time Warping distance (for real and synthetic data) and we present experimental results that validate the accuracy and efficiency of our approach, especially under the strong presence of noise.

Robust Mobile Object Tracking based on Multiple Feature Similarity and Trajectory Filtering
This paper presents a new algorithm to track mobile objects in different scene conditions. The main idea of the proposed tracker includes estimation, multi-features similarity measures and trajectory filtering. A feature set (distance, area, shape ratio, color histogram) is defined for each tracked object to search for the best matching object. Its best matching object and its state estimated b...
متن کاملOptimal Trajectory Planning of a Box Transporter Mobile Robot
This paper aims to discuss the requirements of safe and smooth trajectory planning of transporter mobile robots to perform non-prehensile object manipulation task. In non-prehensile approach, the robot and the object must keep their grasp-less contact during manipulation task. To this end, dynamic grasp concept is employed for a box manipulation task and corresponding conditions are obtained an...
متن کاملEfficient LCSS Distance Measure for Searching of Similar Time Series Trajectories
Many researchers have been attracted towards searching of similar moving objects trajectories due to its wide range of real time applications. Searching of similar trajectories of moving objects helps data mining users to take smart decisions and thereby improving the performance of systems. Trajectories are compared for similarity using edit distance measures such as DTW, ERP, EDR, and LCSS. T...
متن کاملLearning Semantic Scene Models by Trajectory Analysis
In this paper, we describe an unsupervised learning framework to segment a scene into semantic regions and to build semantic scene models from longterm observations of moving objects in the scene. First, we introduce two novel similarity measures for comparing trajectories in far-field visual surveillance. The measures simultaneously compare the spatial distribution of trajectories and other at...
متن کاملAn Indoor Trajectory Comparison Framework for Android Smartphones
We present a powerful distributed framework for comparing trajectories and answering queries of the form: “Report objects (i.e., trajectories) that follow a similar spatiotemporal motion to Q, where Q is some query trajectory”. Each trajectory resides in its entirety in-situ, which is cheaper and more efficient for mobile devices. Our SmartTrace algorithm then deploys a search algorithm that ex...
